Cappella Caeciliana was pleased to support a "sold out" seminar and masterclass for teachers and choral directors, presented by Dr Jenevora Williams. Are you giving your young singers the best tools for strong and healthy singing? Learning a technique for any physical skill is merely finding a way to perform the task with the minimum of effort – let’s help our young singers to make it easier for themselves! This course was aimed at all teachers and choral directors working with young singers. The day will was be divided into two sessions. In the morning Jenevora explored the vocal possibilities and limitations throughout the young singer’s development, from pre-school to undergraduate. She also focused on the vital area of adolescent voice change in both boys and girls – an area which can present many challenges to the singing teacher. The afternoon session took the form of a masterclass in which Jenevora worked with 6 young students at various stages of vocal development thus giving a practical and useful demonstration of the issues covered in the earlier session.
